[Our handicappers, Side Rosenberg and Chris Genske give you their picks for this weekend... again, purely for entertainment purposes.]
Still feeling strong and hopefully paying off for you... we’ve generated a 3-1 record, in addition to a 60% winning percentage over the past month in NFL at
VegasInsider.com.
College football has always been known to be full of upsets and surprises, and in the NFL you typically have 1-2 every weekend. That would be true in most seasons, but as parity through the NFL continues to improve you are not only having dogs cover the spreads, but you are continuing to see them win out-right.
In week 2 of the NFL there were 8 underdog teams who not only covered but WON including Raiders, Texans, Jets, Giants, Bengals, Cardinals, Ravens, and Da’ Bears. Remember, these are pros and the best at their level, as they say “Any Given Sunday” applies not only to NFL football but sports handicapping as well. We’ve selected two great games for you this week including an ACC battle and an AFC North showdown.
Saturday September 26, Wake Forest at Boston College (2:00 PM EST)
The Wake Forest Demon Deacons travel to Mass to face The Boston College Eagles at Alumni Stadium in what is sure to be a grid locked game. Both teams are looking to prove themselves in the weak ACC conference in the young season, both with a winning record of 2-1. Oddsmakers currently have the Eagles listed as 1-point favorites versus the Demon Deacons, while the game's total is sitting at 41. Wake Forest traditionally plays well against BC, but some things to consider include BC when playing in September are 8-2 SU and after being outgained are 7-3 SU (lost to Clemson 9/19). Additionally, BC doesn’t lose at home with a 7-1 record SU in their past 8 home games; BC WINS AGAIN AT HOME, THE EAGLES ARE FLYING!
Sunday September 27, NFL Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinatti Bengals (4:15 PM EST)
Divisional bragging rights will be on the line for the AFC North on
Sunday when the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals meet at Paul Brown Stadium. Cincinnati is expected to be riding high after their victory over the Packers in week 2 with great performances by Cedric Benson and Chad Ochocinco doing his version of the Lambeau leap with 91 receiving yards and a TD. Oddsmakers currently have the Steelers listed as 4 point favorites versus the Bengals, while the game's total is sitting at 37.
So here you have a typical match-up of a surprised team on an emotional high against a bruised and battered Steelers team after a game they clearly could have won multiples times against The Bears. All that considered, Pittsburgh is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games when playing on the road against Cincinnati, and 9-1 SU within their own conference the past 10 games.
Realistically The Steelers are 3 games removed from their Superbowl glory, and we don’t foresee The Bengals stopping them from another run. PLAY ON THE STEELERS TO COVER ON THE ROAD!
