Line2 Lets You Give One Big Middle Finger to AT&T
03/26/2010

If you use your iPhone like I do, you know how shocking it is when that bill comes at the end of the month, and you see the charges you've racked up for overages.

Apparently we aren't alone, because communications system developer Toktumi has come out with an app called Line2 that works around your ATT contract by adding a second line to your iPhone. One that clones all your phone's calling and dialing features -- like visual voicemail, the dialing keypad and your contact lists -- yet works over 3G, WiFi or cellular networks... giving you unlimited VoIP calls anywhere in the US.

The service automatically switches from 3G to WiFi as you walk through networks, and adds biz grade features Toktumi offers, like hosted PBX, live customer support, voicemail by email and more.

While there was a denial of service attack against the app on the iTunes store recently (which should tell you how well this app works), it's available again and will run you 99 cents for the app and $14.95 per month for the service. But if you've ever been hit with a couple hundred dollars in overage fees, you know that a $15 insurance policy is a no-brainer. And for a limited time, Toktumi is offering a 30 free trial.

Hear that? It's the sound of ATT fat cats canceling their country club memberships...
