Cocktails to Pair with Each Course of Your Holiday Feast
12/17/2009

The thing about holiday dinners is they are never ending. Course after course, with the nothing but the typical wine available to help wash down your aunt's dry-as-Bea-Arthur (too soon?) holiday ham.

Which is why I'm recommending that this holiday, you mix up some cocktails specially created by Corzo tequila to pair up with every course of your holiday feast. By dessert you won't care that you're wearing a sweater with two reindeer humping. Or that those reindeer are getting more action than you...

First Course/Appetizers:
CORZO Toast

1 part CORZO Silver tequila
1/2 part vanilla cognac
Champagne

Pour first three ingredients into a chilled champagne glass. Top off with champagne. Garnish with raspberries.

Food Pairing: The Corzo toast cocktail will pair very nicely with cheese, fresh berries, dry fruits, and chocolate. The fresh agave, citrus, and vanilla flavor from Corzo Silver and the refreshing flavor from the champagne will combine well with these holiday treats.

Main Course:
CORZO Holly

1 1/2 parts Corzo Reposado tequila
1/3 part fresh lime juice
1 part simple syrup
3 fresh strawberries quartered
3 fresh basil leaves
1/8 part balsamic vinegar (optional but highly recommended)

Muddle all ingredients. Shake with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a strawberry slice.

Food Pairing: The CORZO Holly is a very versatile cocktail that will pair with different holiday foods like turkey, lamb, pork, seafood, cranberries, or pasta. This cocktail delivers a very well balanced flavor between citrus, sweet, herbal, and tanginess that will marry great with your holiday meal.

Dessert:
CORZO® Snow White

1 1/2 parts Corzo Silver
1/2 parts coffee liqueur
1 part vanilla cognac
1 1/2 parts heavy cream

Shake ingredients with ice and pour into a chilled rocks glass with ice.

Food Pairing: The CORZO Snow White cocktail is a great pairing with New York style cheese cake. The lemon zest, vanilla, and cinnamon from the cheesecake, along with the CORZO Silver and hints of coffee flavor make this a great way to finish your holiday feast.

CORZO Snow White also pairs well with chocolates. The vanilla and coffee flavors from the cocktail will pair great with sweet chocolate, bitter chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate.
