Luna Lounge Martinis
04/25/2007

A couple of weeks ago I was on a golf trip through Mississippi, and after playing The Azaleas course at the Dancing Rabbit Golf Club (number 35 of the Top 100 in the US. Highly recommended.) we spent a night at the Pearl River Resort in Philadelphia. (Yes, there's Philadelphia in MS too.)

After dinner we went up to the Luna Lounge, an old-school club at the top of the resort, shaped like a moon that hangs off the roof of the building. The perfect place to drink. Since it was late, Julie the bartender suggested their signature coffee martinis to keep the party going. And did they.

Here are the recipes for when you're looking for an after dinner drink to keep things hopping.

Hazelnut Coffee-tini
• 2 oz Vanilla vodka
• 1 oz Tia Maria
• 1 oz Frangelico
• Cold coffee

Add to a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a cherry.

Mochatini
• 2 oz Vanilla vodka
• 1 oz Tia Maria
• 1 oz Baileys
• Cold coffee

Add to a shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a cherry.

Peppermint Kiss Me-tini
• Baileys
• Godiva white chocolate liquor
• Godiva dark chocolate liquor
• Peppermint schnapps

Add equal parts Baileys and the Godiva liquors to a shaker with ice. Add a splash of schnapps. Shake. Strain into a chilled martini glass.

I loved the Hazelnut Coffe-tini at the Luna Lounge and it packed a punch let me tell you. I had to squint to see my playing cards at the poker table after one of those bad boys! Thanks for the recipe, Eric.
