First Look: 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe
12/02/2009

I had a conversation today with Bryan Nesbitt, General Manager of Cadillac, about the direction of the brand, and here's what he wanted us to know: Caddy wants us back. ("Us" being young, affluent males.) And they are taking some big steps in the right direction to get us back.

Check out the 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe. Based on the popular CTS sedan, the new 2-door (hitting dealerships next fall), is sleeker, sexier, and has enough eyeball to turn the heads of the women whose heads we want to turn.

They lowered the roofline. Raked the windshield back. Widened the stance. And added hi-tech touches, like removing the door handles and replacing them with an eletro-servo release mechanism that responds to touch. (Corvette owners know what I'm talking about.)

Under the hood, we'll get a direct injected 3.6-L, 304 horsepower V-6 mated to a six-speed manual transmission, with an optional automatic tranny. And, I'm told that a V version is going to be available too. For those of you who aren't familiar with the CTS-V sedan, it's got a 556-horsepower monster for a power plant. So imagine the styling and luxury of this coupe, matched with supercar performance. It's gonna be worth the wait.
