Here's something I honestly didn't know: Beef jerky is a high protein, low fat, nutritious snack. Judging by the people I've always seen eating it, I just figured it had to be bad for you.
Recently Oh Boy! Oberto, launched a low calorie version of the dried meat snack as well. Two varieties, 100 Calorie Original Beef Jerky Bites and 100 Calorie Teriyaki Turkey Jerky Bites, are now available at grocery, mass merchandise and convenience stores nationwide. (What, not at Dean and Deluca?)
Each bag has about 12 grams of protein and 1.5 total grams of fat per 100 calorie pack. Not bad for chewing through while mountain biking or after a workout.
