Tonight, the night before Halloween, is traditionally Mischief Night. When immature minds run wild with thoughts of toilet papering houses, throwing eggs out of car windows and renting Lindsay Lohan DVDs.
But just how mischievous are we as a society?
Hornitos Tequila wanted to know.
As part of their Hornitos Mischieve campaign which "embodies the philosophy that prescribes unexpected pranks and adventure in daily life" (who hasn't had a little unexpected adventure after drinking tequila?), they asked a few hundred adults questions about how mischievous they really are.
Here's some of what they found:
For Halloween, the most mischievous costumes we can wear are a Firefighter for men with 30%, beating out a Cop with handcuffs at 26%. For women, Cheerleader won hands down (or pom poms up) with 38%, followed by Candy Striper with 29%. (Had it been Candy STRIPPER it might have scored higher...)
The most mischievous act we would ever commit? 39% of us said "Kiss a stranger" with "Take a nap under your desk" tied for second with "Wake up confused about your surroundings" at 21%. "Call in sick to work" came in last with 19%. (Well, when you do it regularly, it isn't all that mischievous.)
Most mischievous city? No surprise here... Las Vegas wins hands down with 74% of the vote. New Orleans with its flashing for beads came in a distant second with 15%.
Also winning in a landslide is
"Whipped cream" for most mischievous food at 56%. Second place? Chocolate with 24%
Keep your eyes on your friends. 32% said they would get mischievous at your house, and 29% would flirt with your date.
And there's a mean streak to many of us. When asked the most mischievous prank they'd pull on strangers, 40% said "Drop water balloons on them." 13% would send an email out saying the office was closed when it wasn't. (Wouldn't matter, I probably called in sick already anyway.)
Finally, what's the most mischievous dare we would do? Turns out 40% would "kiss someone they weren't supposed to" (understandable, depending on the definition of "not supposed to"), followed by Skydive (25%), Crash a party (22%), and Get a tattoo (13%). Meaning more than 10% of the people you dare to get a tattoo this weekend would actually do it.
I think I just found my weekend plans...
