Jeans Built for 'Boardin
09/29/2009

Shout out to all my fellow boarders... I am sure you share the same view I have when it comes to finding the perfect pair of jeans to skate in. It's almost as serious as finding the right car. Or girl. You want something that is durable, yet stylish and screams your edge. (In jeans, not girls.)

Quiksilver has made the hunt easy. They've teamed up with three guys from their skate team - Danny Garcia, Reese Forbes, and Alex Olsen - to create a line of jeans designed just with skateboarding in mind. From the vantage point of a true skater and not a random fashion designer that does not have the slightest clue on what a boarder really needs in denim.

There are three different fits that are inspired by Garcia, Olsen, or Forbes.

Reese Forbes Signature Denim (left)
This is not Forbes’ first rodeo in creating rad denim jeans for the skate world. This is a regular fit jean (meaning a regular rise in the hip and a bit of a wider leg to help you move easily with your kick flips). The denim is interweaved with CoolMax... a gnarly fabric that sucks up all that sweat from an intense afternoon.

Alex Olson Signature Denim (middle)
The Olson inspired regular fit has rubber coated buttons which are amazing because sometimes tricks can end in an epic fail, and next thing you know you are “buttonless” as well as toothless. The jeans also have a crotch gusset (a piece of material that improves fit). Made for the fearless.

Danny Garcia Signature Denim (right)
For all you skaters that still like to look hip, this fit is more for you. It partners a modern straight leg fit with CoolMax denim to keep you from becoming a sweaty mess. It also has bar tacks that prevent rips from falls on half pipes, guard rails, and anything else you are grinding off of. Another awesome feature is the back coin pocket that is designated for your I-Pod.
