June is National Iced Tea Month. So Naturally, Here Are Some Cocktails
05/20/2010

I just found out that June is National Iced Tea Month. Which really isn't a shocker, considering it's as synonymous with summer as bikinis, barbecues and baseball.

But since I know you're looking for something a little more powerful than the usual, non-adult version of tea can deliver, I'm gonna give you a couple of cocktails that call for Zen Green Tea Liquor instead.

The first one, Chaniwa, means "tea garden" (Cha mean “tea” and niwa means “garden”), but it's more like Asia meets the Caribbean. With banana liquor and rum mixed with ice cream and fresh banana slices, if you've got babes in bikinis attending your pool party, this is the drink you're making. And the ZEN Kissaten adds steamed milk to the green tea liquor for a quick and easy after dinner drink.

Chaniwa
1 oz Green Tea Liqueur
1/4 oz Banana Liqueur
1 oz Light Rum
2 Scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream
2 Biscuits
Banana Slices for Garnish
Matcha Powder for Garnish

Mix green tea liqueur, banana liqueur, rum, and ice cream in a blender until smooth. Break biscuits into pieces, add, and stir. Pour into a chilled martini glass. Place a few banana slices on top and sprinkle with matcha powder. Serve with a spoon.

ZEN Kissaten
1 1/2 oz Zen Green Tea Liqueur
3-4 oz Steamed Milk
Matcha Powder for Garnish

Pour green tea liqueur and milk into a tea cup. Sprinkle with matcha powder and serve.
