KoRn Answers Your Questions
05/31/2010

A few weeks ago, I flew to NYC with Jagermeister to interview KoRn and check out their concert at Roseland. I asked you if you had any questions you wanted them to answer during the interview, and you guys came up with far better ones than I could have. (Thanks. You're all hired.)

Well the day of the concert the video interview turned into no video allowed, just an audio interview with pics. Then that became no pics. Then it was no interview at all, you're just going to meet the band, but submit your questions and we'll answer them via email.

No problem. The guys were so great and fun to hang out with during the meet and greet, it didn't matter. They assured me your questions would get answered. And true to their promise, here they are. [Oh, and Tammy (@Maggoteater), your tattoo question got overlooked, so I'm going to get that answered and Tweet it to you.]

From zzz:
How you think how your music will be evolve in next 10 years?

Who knows. We’ll have to see where the next 10 years take us. Right now, we’re going back to our roots and we’re excited about the direction of our music now.

From Nate Leon:
Korn was featured in The Notorious B.I.G's Duets: The Final Chapter. How or when did Jonathan Davis/Korn collaborate with Biggie? Or if it wasn’t a collaboration how did the song come to be?

Diddy called up and asked if we wanted to do it. We were like, hell yeah!!!

From Both Mary and Jason B:
Will JD ever play guitar on stage?

He plays bagpipes, and can play many instruments, but we have two guitarists usually... so, he doesn’t need to.

From Brad:
In the history of your long musical career, what has been the hardest time for the band?

Jonathan almost died onstage at a festival back in 2005 from an unknown, rare disease. That was really scary. He’s since gotten medical treatment for it, and is doing great now.

From @El_trawg:
The funny voices/noises Jonathan does. It's weird, bold, & he makes it work. What's the story behind them?

Jonathan just lets it flow. Whatever he feels when he’s writing a song or in the vocal booth, he lets it out. Pure, raw emotion. That’s where those guttural noises come from.

From AYD:
What makes you feel the most connected to your audience during a live show?

Seeing the crowd react when we play our songs. Man, it’s the best thing in the world. You have an intense connection at that moment to all those people, and it’s impossible not to get an adrenaline rush.

From Fan PL:
Do you read reviews of your albums in the music magazines or sites like rateyourmusic.com?

Sometimes. At the end of the day, you have to make the music that you love, and that you think is real- no matter what anyone else thinks. Fortunately, a lot of critics are really digging the new record, but at the end of the day, the band’s opinion of the music is most important. That, and our fans!

What is in your opinion condition of metal scene nowadays?
There are some cool bands out there. Five Finger Death Punch, Lamb of God, Rob Zombie coming back... basically many of the MAYHEM Festival bands are pretty cool. This summer’s going to be an amazing time.

From dustin:
Will we ever see the old school bikes as a back drop again?

You’ll have to wait and see!

From katie korn freak71:
I been wanting to know for a long time now, and this might be a stupid question but... Why is the color purple his favorite color?

That is a stupid question. Just kidding! It’s a great color, it’s dark, has many layers, and it’s also the Los Angeles Laker color!

From Munkyle:
Is there going to be a UK tour to look out for?

Watch out for us this fall.
