If these look familiar, that’s because I included Munitio’s other earbuds in my Techie Gift Guide this past holiday season. But these are the latest from the “tactical” headphone creators, their [M] BLK: Nine Millimeter.
The [M] BLK one-of-a-kind bullet casing design includes the same technology as their standard issue titanium (SITi) earphones, but these get the addition of a premium aluminum billet Suppressor [M]ic Control™, which allows for hands-free communication in an all-black tactical finish. (Should you be pinned down in a sales meeting and need to communicate with a rescue team.)
To deliver low, thundering bass, smooth mid to highs and overall enveloping sound, each [M] BLK earphone is individually machined from a solid piece of high density copper alloy, coated in Titanium, then outfitted with a rare earth neodymium 9mm driver. The earphone is then enclosed in a BassEnhancingChamber™ and topped with a custom-tuned AccousticSoundFlowSystem™. And just in case that doesn’t provide enough ear-blowing sound, they are outfitted with noise isolating SiliconeHollowPoints™. Then they are fitted to Kevlar® reinforced premium copper-covered fabric cable and a 24k gold plated plug. All wrapped in an all-black, flat, tactical finish.
They sent me a pair to test a couple of weeks ago, and the sound is seriously impressive. While technically not noise-canceling headphones, these bullet-sized buds fit so perfectly (a set of different sized tips is included for a custom-feel fit), and deliver sound so fully, that no other noise can squeeze in. Even at the gym, I don’t have to listen to the nauseating Muzak pumped through the place, or the repeated grunts of Spandexed posers. I’m supposed to send these back after my test, but they are gonna have to pry them from my cold, dead hands.
