Nothing Personal: An Insider’s View Into the Business of Being a Hit Man
Ever wondered what it would be like to quit the 9-5 rat race and rub out rats instead? And I’m not talking about the four-legged, cheese eating rats either.
Starting Wed, March 9, Nothing Personal, a new 6-part series, narrated by true crime aficionado Steve Schirripa (aka as “Uncle Junior’s guy” Bobby Baccalieri on The Sopranos), will give us a true insider’s view of the business of crime. Schirripa, who had classmates that later became hit men, delves into the lives of these hired assassins, their devious clients and unknowing victims — often with exclusive interviews with the men who carried out the hits. (Preview clip after the jump.)
We’ll learn why the victims had contracts on their lives, who wanted them dead, and how the hit men carried out their gruesome assignments. Without having to take the oath of Omertà.
In the first episode, Schirripa interviews notorious Columbo crime family hit man ‘Big Sal’ Miciotta, to get the details on the hit of Larry “Champagne” Carrozza. An up-an-comer in the family, Champagne made the fatal mistake of dating the daughter of one of the bosses. Which led to the contract on his life. (Come on. If you have the nickname “Champagne” you’re just asking to get popped…) Big Sal reveals how the hit was conducted, and the whole story of adultery, drugs and high-power crime.
Upcoming episodes include the story of a woman who hired a hit man to take out the hit man she hired to take out her husband. I wonder if she was on the frequent buyer plan.
