Pack Extra Deodorant - The 100 Sweatiest Cities in America
06/15/2007

If you're planning a summer vacation this year, you might want to cross some of these cities off your list. Or invest in a gallon of anti-perspirant.

To mark the first day of summer next week, Old Spice is announcing their Sixth Annual Top 100 Sweatiest Cities List. Number 1 again this year is Phoenix, whose citizens also produced more sweat than any other city in 2006, 2005 and 2003. The average resident there loses 26.3 ounces of sweat per hour during a typical summer day – meaning residents of Phoenix collectively produced enough sweat to fill more than 53,000 beer kegs in just one hour. (I'm booking my flight right now.)

Coming in at No. 2 is Las Vegas, although they don't say if sweating the vig you owe your bookie counts toward the total. Dallas rounds out the top three. In a surprising upset, Miami, FL, long thought to produce hotter, sweatier people than any other city, comes in a distant 13th.

Old Spice came up with the rankings by using computer simulations of the amount of sweat a person of average height and weight would produce walking around for an hour in each city's average high temperatures during June, July and August of 2006 for each city. (Current worst job in the world? Sweat Simulation Watcher.)

Don't think Little Rock, Alaska, (AK) would be a very sweaty city! It's actually in Arkansas (AR)
