Pledge to Party on St. Patrick's Day, Be Part of a New World Record
02/21/2012

Guinness is looking to set a Guinness World Record. And you get to be a part of it. The best part is, you don't have to risk life and limb with some crazy stunt, eat a bunch of live crickets, or balance anything heavy on your head. You don't really need to have any special talents at all.

That's because Guinness is attempting to set the record for The Largest St. Patrick's Day Celebration ever. So becoming a part of legend is as easy as celebrating St. Patrick's Day with a pint. (And you planned on doing that anyway, so you might as well make it historic.)

Here's all you need to do: Head over to Guinness.com and click on "Join the Party." You'll get a pledge form where you promise to toast St. Patrick's Day with a pint of Guinness. (Beer Fact: About 13,000,000 pints of Guinness are consumed around the world on that day.)

All they need is your first name, your zip code and an optional referral code. That code is BACH. (That way they know I sent you, since I promised Guinness I'd help them get partiers to pledge.)

Then have a pint on Saturday, March 17th (mark your calendar, that's St. Patty's Day), and you're a part of the record-breaking party. Just keep in mind, the record is the number of people having a pint of Guinness, not the number of pints of Guinness you have… always drink responsibly. (I will however, suggest that your pint be traditional, and not tinted green. I still have a big problem with green beer.)

So go to Guinness.com, join the party, and forever be able to brag you helped set a Guinness World Record. Doing what you do best...

I dont think that is the year it is the calibration mark to siginfy that the pint glass corresponds to the ISO or si standard for a pint. Its like a Q!uality controll mark. The CE is the european standard for a pint and that this has been measured to a calibrated system. This is Imperial (pint) but maybe not the american system if it was metric you would be asking for a0.56 of a litre of guinness
