The most requested recipe I've posted is Grandma Hawkins' Homemade Irish Cream. Hands down.
I originally posted it back in December of last year, and I have personally made it three times. For Thanksgiving. For Christmas. And for New Years. And I will be making it again tomorrow night. By request
from my friends. Actually more like
demand from my friends.
It's become a crowd favorite. We usually drink it on the rocks, but it can be mixed into coffee for a great after-dinner drink too. And for St. Patty's Day? It's almost a given that you serve it.
There's a couple of things you should know beforehand: First, it's very smooth, and goes down easy. Almost too easy. (Ladies love it.) But it has nearly a full bottle of whiskey in each batch, and it will hit you. Hard.
Second, the recipe calls for a can of evaporated milk, a cup of whipping cream and four whole eggs. Not exactly a Slim-Fast shake. There's some fat and calories associated with it. A lot of fat and calories. But it's very, very worth it. Trust me.
If you want to make some for tomorrow you can
get the recipe here.
