That Voodoo That You Do - Infused Tequila
06/08/2007

It was bound to happen. There was no way tequila was going to sit idly by while vodka and (most recently) gin, stole the flavor infusion spotlight.

Stepping into that light is Voodoo Tiki, a new line of premium tequilas made from 100% blue agave with a little something extra. Fruit infusions. Their Desert Rose tequila is infused with prickly pear, Blue Dragon has blue raspberry and kiwi, and Green Dragon has an infusion of Tahiti lime.

Voodoo Tiki is produced much like boutique wines offered by small vineyards, where the emphasis is on care and tradition, rather than mass production. Produced in Jalisco, Mexico, the agave plants they use are grown for a minimum of ten years, resulting in a more mature plant with far better natural sugars. The end result is an incredibly smooth tequila designed to be sipped straight, that can be mixed into exotic and flavorful cocktails.

Besides the three available now, Voodoo Tiki is planning several other tequila infusions including chocolate, watermelon, strawberry, mandarin orange, coconut and coffee. If that gets you thinking about the possibilities for mixing cocktails, I like where your head is at.
