Toast Fall with Some Red Stag Cocktails
09/17/2009

Since I'm headed out to Las Vegas today to party with the guys from Jim Beam while they free-pour gallons of their new black cherry flavored bourbon, Red Stag... trying to make my liver hate me more than it already does... I figured it would only be fitting to throw a few cocktail recipes your way.

Red Stag is definitely a different bourbon. It's made by taking some of Jim Beam's 80-proof four-year-old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and infusing it with natural black cherry flavors. Think Cherry Dr. Pepper that can put you on your ass. (Which, by the way, it mixes very well with, because I've tried it.)

Besides working well with soft drinks, it's also great in mixed drinks. So to get your fall season kicked off right, here are a few new drinks to try, along with some black cherry-infused classics.

Interesting isn't it the way that your liver seems to hate you almost as much as my liver seems to hate you....When done well, the infusing of liquor and fruit can make for an incredibly enjoyable drink. When done wrong...not so much. But the fact that the good people at Jim Beam handled Red Stag means one thing - It couldn't have been done any better.
