Here’s a viral video with the “viral” part built in…
To promote their new racing game, Blur, Activision hedged their bets on getting viral views by taking some of the most popular clips on YouTube, and mashing them up with visuals and effects from the game.
Then they put them into categories I’m gonna assume are in the game, like Barge, Shunt, Nitro, and my favorite: Shock (Some good classic clips in that one.)
Pure genius or contrived manipulation? Eh, I’m gonna say a little of both… They had me when they added in the “I’m falling!” fat kid on the roller coaster and his Mom of The Year candidate sitting next to him.
